today was a good day
We had a good (hard) practice this morning. My legs are very heavy tonight which is a sign that my 3 pachasanas, 3 ustrasanas and 5 lagruvadrasanas (who knows how you spell them) followed by backbends and drop-backs had an effect....they definitley had an effect.
We didn't have a workshop this afternoon so we headed out for a bit of sightseeing and shopping! There isn't a lot to see on the island and you have to look closely to find the nice shops amongst the tourist stuff but we managed and came home with some bags.
We stopped at a restaurant called 'The Cliff' which was lovely. We all had a nice cold drink of one variety or another (non-alcoholc, we're on a yoga retreat you know!) and enjoyed the view out to sea, surrounded by palm trees. While the food here is really lovely we all agreed that dinner at 'The Cliff' on Friday night is a must. it has it's own wine cellar so we may even have to indulge in a glass of wine.
This blip is a rickety old pier in Fisherman's Village, I had lots of other things I could have blipped today, ones that looked much more 'Thai' but I can't resist a rickety pier. I will add this to my collection!
There was much excitement a dinner tonight over the raw beetroot ravioli and the cashew nut cookies. I will be buying the cookery book from the shop before I leave! We were also surprised to see the lights of lots of fishing boats tonight while we were at dinner. We hadn't noticed them before. There was also lightening over Thailand...I wonder if it's heading our way. There was a rain storm int he night, so loud it woke me up.
