Hippo

Hippo was found hiding away about 5 years. He was a birthday present from a friend many years ago!

He now enjoys Terry Pratchett and chats with Doggy and Ostrich.

My blip could have been a very interesting blip of North British Distillers, as our work had a tour there in the evening. Unfortunately, because of vapours etc, the site is extremely flammable. We had to leave all our phones and cameras in the reception.

I found all the different smells amazing. You would literally move through walls of different smells and each room was really distinct.

I tried draff, the animal feed by-product, it's disgusting! We also stood on metal grated flooring which was about 4 stories high over some huge metal vats where the final grain whisky product is stored. If you looked at your feet you could see all the way down to the ground. I'm OK with heights and although my mind said it was OK, my body took a little bit more convincing as I shuffled around. The view was beautiful though.

At the end of the tour we tried J+B, Famous Grouse and Cutty Sark. Not the most exciting selection, but unfortunately they had completely ran out of their 18 year old grain whisky, so it was blends or nowt. I liked J+B the best, however, that said I am still a single malt gal at heart.

Thanks to this cold I didn't get to sleep until 4am.

Whilst I was out Hippo sat at home watching over the peace lily and talking philosophy with Ostrich. They both agreed that its all very complicated and the best idea is to smile. Happiness is the key! :)
