Japanese Anemone

Took a wander along the bank of the Matakitaki this evening. The locals have created a great are of walking tracks around where the old bridge used to be. The bush is an interesting mixture of native and introduced plants - manuka blending with rhododendrons, miro hand in hand with buddleia, Totara standing with gums, willows and oaks, ferns vying with japanese anemones.

A very 'kiwi' footprint we've laid on the river bank.
