Cheerio
Not a good start to the morning. H was enjoying watching Peppa Pig whilst I was feeding O. I wasn't really expecting her to turn around and announce that she had a Cheerio up her nose! I could see it and tried to get it out with a baby nasal suction thing and a pair of tweezers, but neither method worked. H can't blow her nose yet and is really not keen on trying, and the more I tried to get her to blow, the more she sniffed! She was sneezing non-stop and so I decided to phone NHS24 for advice. I think they had a bit of a snigger as when hanging up, the call handler said "goodbye, and good luck with that"!
By this point, I could no longer see the offending piece of cereal. The advice was to monitor it for a few hours and if it doesn't appear, get her checked out. So we spent the day indoors waiting for the Cheerio to appear. We played with Play Doh and ate Millie's Cookies and drank hot chocolate. The Cheerio has not shown itself so either H has sneezed it out (unlikely as I found no trace of it and I think she would have told me) or she has sniffed it right up, in which case I am hopeful it has actually passed. I will give it a day or 2 and see what happens.
I caught her holding a piece of Play Doh up to her nose and warned her that she wasn't to put it up her nose - "No, I only put Cheerios up my nose" was the reply. When told that you don't put anything up your nose, the reply was "I just pretend to put Cheerios and Play Doh up my nose". Honestly, she's either a wee comedienne, or she never learns her lesson!
On the plus side, she had no accidents today and was dry all night again (without even getting up for a toilet visit)! Well done H.
