Lower MI
So there's this artist who calls himself Skoff. Every month or two, he compiles some of his paintings, goes around the city, and leaves them in various locations: bus stops, on the back of abandoned trains, on bridges, on highways, et cetera. He then photographs the location of each painting and posts them on his website.
Today, I noticed that he had updated his website, so I quickly figured out where most of his paintings were. I then took the car and went on a mini scavenger hunt. After going to three locations and finding nothing, I was kind of bummed. I was ready to call it quits when I realized that I was actually near Lower Michigan Ave, where Skoff left one of the paintings I really liked. I was positive that it had already been claimed, but I figured that it couldn't hurt to look.
Well, look what I found! I sought out the bus stop in the picture, and when I got there, the painting was nowhere to be seen. Luckily, as I was leaving, I needed to change lanes so I looked behind my right shoulder and got a glimpse of something bright and vibrant resting against the wall. There was a man sitting in a red truck right next to the painting, and he looked at me like I was a psycho as I jumped out of the car, made a beeline to it, pulled it up from the ground (it's about 4' x 2'), awkwardly carried it to my car, stuffed it into the backseat, and drove away. I can only imagine what went on in his head as he witnessed that, ha.
So, sweet. This is the first painting I've ever owned, and it's not a bad one at all!
