Swans on a lake - or on a cornfield?

Today we made a trip to countryside and after taking some poor on even worse shots of migratory birds we turned car back home - and found a couple of hooper swans on a quite new lake .... Actually ... this is not a lake at all, but a flooding cornfield near some farmhouse and the road. I suppose on wintertime there is no streetlights nearby, but they have some cows to balance their life at the farmhouse.

The hooper swan is a national bird of Finland and therefore it is one of the protected species. I really not dared to come out of the car, because I did'n want to scare the huge and beautiful birds. Of course the better camera (Nikon) was at the car's trunk but I was so happy of the small Canon pocket camera of mine, and that it was in the cabine and in my pocket - so I had some nice shots!
