This winter was so mild that some of the maple trees never lost their leaves. The leaves turned brown like normal, but didn't fall completely off the trees. The sound of dead leaves rustling in the wind has been an eerie experience this Spring.

I hope next winter is colder. The plants and animals in the Northeast are adapted to months of deep freeze.
