Loch Venachar

On a cold but very bright and still morning.
As the forecast suggested that this morning would be better than the afternoon, we sallied forth intending to lunch at Loch Katrine. However, having passed Callander and the tourist traps at Kilmahog, we turned left towards the Trossachs and came to Loch Venachar. The water was almost glass calm and the reflections were nigh on perfect.
Travelling on, we left Loch Venachar behind, passed Brig o' Turk and came to Loch Achray and had our picnic lunch overlooking the loch. This is one of our favourites but is tricky to photograph without abandoning the car and wandering the shoreline. At this point, we decided to forego Loch Katrine and go on over the Dukes Pass to Aberfoyle and thus back to Stirling. A brief stop off at a large local garden centre for a couple of fresh scones (as you do!) before heading home for a cup of tea and those scones.
