Pheasant in the shade

There are lots of pheasants about now - the ones that got away from the local shoot last winter. The cocks love strutting about and chortling with a flurry of feathers, just hope there are enough hens to appreciate their good looks! This shot was taken through the hall window, apologies for the lack of light. I once lived on a farm where they had free-range peacocks. They used to sit on the cottage wall like vultures looking at their reflection and sometimes pecking at the windows. What a noise they made at night with their screeching. They are not my favourite birds!
