Epic Day

Thought this day would be perfect.

Started the day in the usual way. Everything went out fine. No problems at work. Then you start thinking, it wasn't a bad day at all. We finished the store early at 2:30pm. So I was thinking we'd be able to get to Nelson,BC before 6pm. Would have been a good time to take pictures of the place since I didn't got to do it last year since I didn't bring my camera then.

But, as we were on our way, we got the news that the main road going to Nelson was closed because they had to clear the snow. They told us it was 3-6 hours waiting time. What?! The next best option was another route where we're suppose to take the ferry. It's a bit longer than the usual route but it was faster than the 3-6 hours wait. However the ferry had waiting times and they can only take so much. Since the highway was closed the ferry had more passangers than the usual amount. When the ferry arrived, we weren't even sure if we would make it. Then the portmaster waved her hand and everyone in the van started clapping and cheering. :)

Hmmm.. I guess, with a scene as good as this one... it didn't really matter. :)

So it took us another 2 hours drive, an 1 hour wait in the ferry and another 45mins drive from the port in Kootenay Bay. Just glad we got to Nelson safe and sound. The others took until midnight to get there.
