Brandon came up for a day of fellowship in fort Collins. We met Tasnim and her husband at the mosque for a tour and questions. This is becoming a habit for me- going to the mosque on Saturdays. I value the open conversations and respect between myself and the Islamic community here. We share the foundational understanding that community extends to even the realm of different religions. I enjoy encouraging friends to have a positive and informative experience with their Muslim brothers and sisters- regardless of their religious background. Anyway, after the mosque all 5 (including baby Rahmah) of us went to one of my favorite restaurants, Mazo Kabob, a local Afghani joint for lunch. From there Brandon and I meandered through Old Town, dabbled in some shopping, enjoyed a pot of Turkish tea and meaningful conversations, and ended, up at another favorite for dinner- Suhiro. Drinks at Coopersmith Followed and he didn't leave town till 11. A solid 12 hours spent with one of my closest and long-standing friends.
