A new project?
Today was an exciting one.
This is Otto, a 4 year old Friesian gelding. Who I may have accidentally fallen in love with today. My gran, a friend and I went for a cheeky road trip to visit this little guy today, following somewhat of a blow to my current agreement with Risky's owners. In short, my loan contract is void. Risky was badly lame tonight when I went to bring him in to ride, and so his owners were called up. Following a brief chat on the phone, they rocked up to check Risky over (the poor fella could barely stand up on the concrete). They've actually left him in the field overnight, so fingers crossed he can still walk tomorrow. They were jumping him over silly heights on Friday so I have a horrible feeling he's damaged a tendon - the sore leg was swollen and sensitive to even slight pressure when I checked it. Then again, he seemed completely sound in my lesson yesterday, so who knows what's going on! Anyway, the owners offered to end the loan contract with immediate effect, however I explained that I would be more than happy to continue with Risky up until the 11th May, which is when the 30 day period of notice ends. It may well just be grooming, as I'm unsure what level of damage has been done to the leg... The owners seemed happy enough with this and have kindly decided not to charge me for this month as I will be doing them a favour over the next few weeks.
Back to the cheeky Friesian! He's nervous, and scruffy, and a little bit of a handful. But if all goes well over the next few weeks you may be seeing a little more of this lovely pony. Can't wait to get my hands on that mane!
