New ground.
The new raised bed that has been kicking about in our shed over the summer finally made it into position today.
The place where it was to go was covered in weeds in the Spring so we covered it with an old carpet and crossed our fingers. Worked a treat, under the carpet was weed free ground which left only the jungle around the edge to clear.
Our veg garden is in an area which has very stony ground. Not pebbles, nah that would be too easy, great big slabs of slate and sea cobbles mixed in with sand and grit. So before we can fill the bed with manure and compost we have to do a bit of excavation with a pick axe.
That, will have to wait till next weekend!
