Travels Through A Lens

A Right Royal Raven

I was at Knaresborough today which has a castle still owned by the queen, albeit a ruin.

For the year 2000, two captive ravens were brought in to have a northern version of the Tower of London. One of the ravens came from the Tower of London and one from Cumbria. This one is called Raven Isabella and has been less than well mannered in the past hence the jesses (leather straps, I didn't know until looking it up). She can get out of these if the handler doesn't keep an eye on her.

Apparently, amongst other things, she flew off with someone's camera, managed to take a picture and let go of it when perched on a nearby roof where it slid down into waiting hands. Look out for her blip journal!

They also have more ravens, although only one out at a time. One of the other ravens uses colourful language, probably why that one wasn't out, but currently doing the comedy circuit (only joking).

I believe birds should not be held captive but understand there are reasons why some can't be set free.

It was another sunny but cold day with more fluffy clouds and some grey ones too. I'm posting this as we have another lovely sunset. All in all a good and relaxing day.

Hope you had a good weekend fellow blippers :)
