Medieval church and burial ground

On our outing today we passed this ruined medieval church and burial ground at New Machar, called Monykebbock. It is a chapel dedicated to St Colm with some 19th century graves as well. The chapel itself looks to be ruined but well looked after. In 2009 the Aberdeenshire Council had wanted to make the chapel a mound to save the money they needed to conserve it. Luckily they changed their minds and conserved the building instead. Thank Goodness for that.
