Territorial Blipping
five hundred days
weaving
words and images
a digital
tapestry
If you want to see just how tricky it is to weave last year's brittle bracken into vaguely numeric shapes, you might want to view large. Let me just say that the only blood spilled in the making of this blip came from my own fingers.
The story of how I came to Blipfoto was told in my 365 blip, and all that I said then still stands, along with all the links to friendly blippers.
The blip event of note since then was the exhibition, which proved that blipping had taken me places that I wouldn't have dreamed of occupying, while at the same time being very tied to the territory that I inhabit. It meant a lot when a group of blip friends came and met up there, and we had a great discussion about how viewing blips on a wall was a change from the digital realm.
Since my 365 we've had at least three blip meets in Bradford, and the number of local blippers seems to be growing all the time. We trust that together, we are providing the rest of the world with views of our city and district that you wouldn't normally get to see. You might be getting a tad bored of our obsession with our new City Park though.
It seems my most "acclaimed" blips of the last 135 have been: Solstice Sky and City Park Sunset, although my personal favourites were Frost Whale and Jumping Crow.
My 365 blip was my first to hit the spotlight page, and it's still a rare honour, but the entries that have since might reveal something of what is popular in blip world. Or it may just show when I was reasonably up to date with my commenting :)
Thanks for looking in and for being a fun community to engage with.
Oh, and if this had been a regular day, you'd have got a tricycle in the River Wharfe for your blip.
