across Bantry Bay
It is our eldest daughter's birthday today.
We visited her this afternoon and all five of us walked a way up the mountainside to see the views of the bay.
It was a beautiful bright day, very peaceful and quiet up there amid the gorse and the heather and the rushing streams. Himself found wild orchids and a plant we hadnt seen before which turned out to be a butterwort, a tiny insectivorous plant of damp ground.
This evening it is icy cold again, the outdoor potatoes are up but we are having to fleece them at night, very unusual.
