Cabo de Palos market.
One of many fish stalls. The grilled mackerel was recognisable but not much else. The Tuna had been split then smoked and cut in to chunks or sold whole like a large kipper. They encouraged us to take photos then forced large pieces of oily grilled mackerel upon us. Our fingers had that lingering fishy smell on them till we got home and washed them.
It was a working market and tourists were greatly outnumbered by local Spaniards. It was the sort of place they came for a new paella pan or a new bra. Some vegetables on show but neither cheese nor bread. A few jewellery stalls and some holiday tops and swimwear to tempt your average tourist, but not much that was going to tempt me to rush back. Perhaps just as well as tomorrow we leave.
