Cox Tor on Dartmoor

What a lovely day and it's not over yet! The sun was shining when I woke up and I gave Jen her presents. Many happy returns!

I was pleased that everything fitted but then I did have some expert help so that wasn't surprising really.

We fuelled up on porridge ready for our trek up to Cox Tor in Dartmoor and the weather was holding really well. We detoured around the lanes for quite some time and then the vista opened up and it is so refreshing to see a view. As always on Dartmoor there was a breeze and the air was chilly so I was glad that I wore extra layers and taken a hat and scarf.

We soon found the car park used by many other people and everyone seemed to have a dog as well.

We decided to give Taran a run about first and threw the ball for him and then made our way up Cox Tor. Half way up the hill, while we stopped for a rest I realised that we were doing exactly the same thing as on my birthday this time last year, when we were walking up Snowdon.

With one foot at a time we arrived at the top and I spent some time with the filters and getting the tripod setup and wow! The air was so clear here and with such a great sky, the trek was really worth it.
