Beach Dive

R had his scuba review first dive as he's been out the water for 18 months. All went well and he came back smiling. Mission achieved on day one?!?!?

I kitted up for my dive in the afternoon... or I tried to! I have come out with new kit, which completes my set. On Wednesday I picked up a new BCD and Regs courtesy of the tax man deciding I had paid too much, so after nearly 4 years I am now fully kitted! However whilst kitting up my A clamp first stage wouldn't attach to the cylinder, it was obviously fitted with a cylinder insert for a DIN connection. A bit gutted, I admitted defeat and borrowed a set of regs from the center.

Set out on our dive and I had a mare... first dive issues! Having had the issues with my regs I then had more issues with self inflation and had to disconnect the inflator hose from my BCD. My bouancy was all over the place. So a shortish dive had. Surely not a problem with my BCD too... this kit is not cheap and I was at my wits end... till tomorrow!

Luckily later when the boat divers returned someone had an cylinder insert that fitted my regs which I could swap in each cylinder before every use. I just had to make sure I didn't lose it and when I get back to the UK... source 1... or 2... or 3!
