A rarity

I finally managed to finish measuring the Preston Guild Marathon and half marathon today. I thought I'd done it last week but I made an error in my calculations that meant another 5 am start today.
Anyway the good news is it's done.

On the way home I spotted this. Although there still some phone boxes around there are less and less red ones. And even less with a phone in them!

Back in my university days phoning home required one of these and a stack of 10p coins. And if Mum or Dad were have a go I could always say I was out of 10p's! (No different the "no signal" and " no credit" today's kids use!

But I was horrified to learn the minimum charge from a call box is 60p. I suppose it shows how long it is since I used one: it was 2p and I could talk for ages for 60p!
