Back early from Orange
Mr C and I went out to Orange (about 2 hours drive) for the opening night of their FOOD (Food of the Orange District) week. It was a night market and a splendid evening it was. Everything delicious and great wines to choose from. We stayed overnight in a art deco Hotel - not fantastic, but you get what you pay for :)
We had to leave early as it was a big day in Blackheath, planting 60 Rhododendrons to celebrate the 60th anniversary of our town's Rhododendron Festival. At 60 years, it is the longest continuously running festival of it's type in Australia. They were all planted by organisations or individuals who have contributed greatly to the festival over the years. Dinner here afterwards for all the volunteers, including Trisharooni who did a marvellous job photographing each guest with their Rhododendron and ceremonial silver spade.
It was a wonderful day.
