Bright New (Half-)Penny

Visited family over Easter.

Dad was wearing his best jacket. Examining the change in his pocket, he found this: a New Half-penny.

Worth 1.2 old pence it was introduced with Decimalisation in the UK in 1971. It was withdrawn from use as legal tender in 1984.

Which may say something about how often Dad wears his best jacket, much to the adults' amusement and my five year old nephew's educational delight...
