Rat-or-two-eh? & smoked bits of pig. Your choi
Last nights meal didn't stay with me for very long. Enough said! This was Saturday morning - bacon roll day - as no such delights available we stayed in bed, late, till 09:00 hrs. When I say bed I refer to the rickety wooden structure containing a 3 mm thick wad of something supported by criss cross webbing, lurking against one wall of our misshapen but large wooden box in the attic.
Her majesty arose first and showered, or at least half showered when l'eau chaud vanished. Screams of pain or delight - guess which - accompanied the completion of ablutions. Obviously they have the same problem with plumbers here as we do in UK. Just can't get the tradesmen these days.
Got on to a safe / correct looking HBoS site and verified recent actions. All present & correct. Went for a late breakfast and met the above delights on offer only metres from our hotel door. Withdrew to hotel lobby and had safe food. Note the emphasis on safe today. Kept away from edges and steep bits on the basis that as we got away with it on Friday the 13th, we should be circumspect the following day. Clouds down lower today, so got the best of views yesterday.
Mentioned to Sue when we arrived yesterday and trundled up the hill, that there was probably a road up the other side. Well, there was and we found it, so your secret is out, you wily Chinamen. They also use pack horses, one of which was stabled outside our hotel's front door.
Wiled away a couple of hours until it was time to descend to the nearest Vehicular Access Point - bus park - 500 mtrs. below. When our bus eventually arrived and then left, considerably delayed by an aged lady from the good old US of A, we plunged down the mountainside trying to, and succeeding in, catching the bus in front. Great, but too shoogly for our hand held video camera.
In due course we arrived back at Yangshuo and checked back in to our hotel, to be reunited with our rucksacks. How we missed them, not. Dined in a new-to-us bar / restaurant "Rock n' Grill" Can thoroughly recommend it. First draught beer in 11 weeks! Well Lager to us Jocks.
With the day rushing to a close, we rushed back to the dorm to write this epistle to the faithful. Enjoy!
