New School

The new St Silas' Primary School building opens next week and this is a view of the corner closest to us. I can't quite decide yet how I feel about the architecture. It feels a little stark in amongst the red-brick Victorian buildings, but I love the way the soft colours become almost invisible on the skyline and it's so much brighter than the old red-brick Victorian building.

The kids and staff are so excited to be moving in - they have been getting on buses and travelling over to the other side of town for nearly two years now and finally their bright new school, right in the middle of their community is ready for them to move in. Apparently there's going to be a community cafe as well, so finally we have a purpose built community space.
