The same but different...

Today we went down to the river. The same river I normally go down to but a completely different section of it.

It was nice to see it a little further upstream for a change. Good to know that, although different in many ways, the river still looks similar and functions the same.

I am going to uni next year and I find it comforting to think that I am not heading off into a world that is completely unknown and strange to me but a world that in many ways will be similar to the one I live in at the moment.

And, just as I could come home to my stretch of the river today, I will always be able to come back home to the scenery and people I am familiar with.
