Menú degustación productos Gallegos

Started the weekend in style with a long lunch at the hospitality school in Benahavis. I was last there on 1st March.

Today the menu was celebrating the cuisine of Galicia, so lots of shellfish, octopus, wonderful steak and for pudding a mini version of the famous tarta de Santiago.

It features the cross of St. James (Patron saint of España) in the dusting of icing sugar.

The cross emblem dates back to the crusades. I referred to the cross in an earlier blip on 11th December.

Normally the cake is thin and round; it's made from almonds, eggs and sugar.

Galicia is one of my favourites parts of Spain and the cuisine is fantastic!

Happy Friday!
