At Barns of Ayre

I got the bus to Lighthouse Corner on Deerness and walked to the Barrs of Ayre on the shore, then east to Point of Ayre. There was a lot of broken cloud and sunshine, but a bitter northerly blowing. I found a spot in the lea of a cliff to have coffee and saw my first migrant terns of the spring- two sandwich terns. Back west along Newark Bay. When I walked up to the road the bus passed by on the way to Lighthouse Corner, where he'd turn and come back, but he stopped and picked me up to save me waiting about in that wind. Good Man!
