Magnolia

Nobility, perseverance, harbinger of spring, and a very ancient plant. I am so taken with the numerous "tepals" as it does not have petals and stamens - I love the kind of wild tossed about look of these tepals. One day soon I will make a branch for a study using shaped and stiffened canvas - so that I have a model for drawings and such.

If I were a bride again I would marry this season so that I could carry magnolia blossoms. However, I am not about to make any changes in that department! Perhaps I need to just get some for my anniversary next weekend!
