Green's Peak from the west.
Rural Arizona at Vernon.
I did help Kathy with a little spring cleaning and furniture moving.
The main reason for declining the invitation to go hiking was that I'd already committed myself to attend a celebration of life. This was for a young man with a winning smile and wonderfully expressive brown eyes. He attended special education classes for six years before his teachers knew he could talk. He was born with severe cerebral palsy but was in no way beaten by any challenges. He learned to swim before his older sister; he did stand unaided; he was able to communicate vocally. All this he achieved through the force of his own personality and the love of his family especially his mother.
I met him when he was eleven years old; he died last Friday aged twenty-one.
