Sunshine and showers
Here is a view that has been blipped before, the view from the bridge over the Bela, looking into Dallam Tower Park. But the light early this morning was extraordinary.
I waited about 10 minutes for the sun to find a gap in the clouds to break through. In the early mornings when the sun is low, long shadows are thrown from the trees. But there is something about the quality of the light on showery mornings, the sunshine is so bright in air that is entirely free of dust and haze. And in Spring the growing grass is bright green.
Before leaving for work, while I was cutting some dandelion leaves for Reg in the little garden outside our kitchen, I came across two blackbird chicks fresh out of the nest. They are at that terribly vulnerable, hapless stage when they are not well coordinated and their flight is weak. As I write this in the evening, they have survived the first day. Fingers crossed for the next couple of days.
As for Reg, he disappeared again in the garden, but we are getting quicker at spotting him now. He had a massive appetite this evening. It seems to be his pattern, an active day when he eats a lot, then the following day he lies dormant.
