It could of course have just been a simple cornet. I snapped this just as someone gave the gull almost three-quarters of their unwanted cone.

They expected it to delicately bite bits off, but oh no, it upended and swallowed the whole thing as if it were a fish it had just plucked from the fishmongers stall:)


PS. Almost forgot the answer to yesterday's little quiz - the car was, as I think both Roy and eo realised, a Nissan Figaro - a cute little car, but probably not one you're likely to catch me driving. Then again, if Andy Marr can fit one;) ?...
