An old jarrah box

My far better half, Graham, has a 'thing' about wooden boxes. Recently we had been out with his brother and wife and came across a Sunday market in Serpentine and we stopped to have a nosey. Graham found this box, old, battered and lined with very smelly red velvety worn material. He managed to get the stall holder to sell it for half the price she originally wanted and so he bought the box. He then undertook restoring it. It's now a lovely jarrah box lined in red leather. He painstakingly sanded down the jarrah and made new boards to line the inside of the box and then covered them with the red leather. He quietly worked away on it and when he finished it he brought it in and said it was for me. He had spent so much time on it and when he bought it he said it might be useful in his office so I was very touched when he gave it to me. Not only is he very clever, restoring it, he's also very thoughtful and loving. It will always be special. Just felt I had to share.
