CIS

Cryno and I had a really enjoyable lunch at Tampopo. I do recommend their lunchtime specials..On the way back to the car I had to shoot the CIS...

When finished, the CIS was the third tallest building in Europe. It was often misquoted as being the tallest, but Milan's Pirelli Building and Madrid's Torre De Madrid are taller and were completed earlier.

Many consider it to be the best of Manchester's 1960s buildings.

It is the UK's tallest office building outside of the Smoke.

In 2006 the service tower was clad in 7,000 blue solar panels costing 5.5 Mil.

The solar panelling is Europe's largest vertical solar array. According to CIS, the panels generate 180,000 units of electricity each year - enough energy to make 9,000,000 cups of tea. Possibly more than CIS staff manage to drink each year.

Ricky and I enjoyed watching City win in Cyprus... with the Brazilian, Jo netting a brace.

A similar shot a year or so ago.
