As one gate closes (falls off!)...

On Sunday I bid for and won an eBay auction for a 1920's garden gate, for no.49. Ironically, yesterday the gate at 49 fell off! I paid £20 for the new/old gate and drove down to Luton and back today to collect it. Went to gym early doors and then picked up the workforce (Greg and mum) for a shift at 49. Then set off to wheathampstead (what a beautiful village) to pick up my antique garden gate. Prob on n1, j26/25 closed so took me an hour to get going!! Plain sailing after that and made good time back. Beautiful sunset through the clouds at Lutterworth and then the heavens opened. Finished my 200 mile round trip and I know a trip well worth it once I've stripped and re-painted the gate.
