Rainbow worm

Today's pressing question..

Mum...was there colour in the olden days?

The Easter bunny came this morning and left hearts and chocolate eggs all around the house. Green ones for Nelly and blue for Matthew. What a delightful way to start the day. She had 3 chocolate eggs, with their foil on, for breakfast and couldn't believe her luck. He found a white chocolate Easter bunny up the chimney.

We went for another beautiful walk further down the Scorff valley, got a bit waylaid and ended up wandering through the forest for about 4 hours. Picnicked on fruit and a few more chocolate eggs.

The picture shows what substantial harvesting they've been doing over-winter, but not clear-felling. And loads of mixed age trees left, it's a beautifully managed woodland. Still the logpiles were 4 metres high and went on for over 200 hundred metres - big for around here.

A lovely couple turned us round and re-directed us with mud and stick arrows, they joined us for part of our walk. We headed back towards the road and a well earned drink and Couign Amman, hot with caramel sauce, at a giant 70's hotel, in the middle of nowhere with a bar right on the riverside.

Home then for proper beefburgers on the bbq, a bit of a perfect day. It's 10pm and the children are only half asleep and I'm going to bed myself.

The promised rain never really happened, just the odd drop here and there. That is absolutely the last time ever that I change my plans for the weatherman. I've promised before and now I really mean it.
