Weaving

Fabric weaving is one of the ancient traditional crafts with deep roots in the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain as it has been known to man and passed on from generation to generation. Jaffar has been taught by his father, doing it for over 30 years!

The weaving machines are considered highly complex manual tools where wooden panels, bamboo shoots and some fine threads and ropes are used. The cotton is imported from Egypt and Jaffar can weave 2m in 90 min! Here's a backblip of the pottery guy from Jasra Handicraft Centre Pottery
