April Challenge #11: where you ate breakfast

We stayed in a hotel in the Albert Docks, Liverpool, last night and it seems that there must be some law/regulation in place that EVERY building located on the docks has to have minimal lighting. Kind of great in some ways, but not for taking pictures. Although fumbling in the dark for a croissant was a calming way to start the day, the pictures I tried to get at the actual breakfast table looked crap.

We were doing a lot of walking today, so asked both girls to grab a piece of fruit from the breakfast buffet for a mid-jaunt snack. I think Jnr Snr was calling a taxi on her banana; I am not quite sure who Jnr Jnr is trying to contact on the pear!!! Poor fruit/phone choice that :-\

Jnr Jnr, 2 mins after checking out after breakfast, said she was tired and sat down on the kerbside! I think the prospect of walking to a museum and the catholic cathedral was not exactly getting her going. However, both places were terrific. The World Museum was very good, ideal for kids. I am not a fan of organised religion to be honest, so was quite reticent about looking around the cathedral, but it was an amazing building. Lots of quality features and some interesting art. Highly recommend it.

Jnr Jnr's foot now has a massive lump on it though. I think all the walking and some slightly ill-fitting trainers were not a good mix. Perhaps she had a premonition!

Got back home late after a detour to see the Gormley installation on Crosby Beach so need to catch up with sleep first, and journals tomorrow.....night night.
