The Daring Young Men on the Flying Trapeze

Well the good news is I didn't bunk off to go to the auction today, but the bad news ( well for business anyway) is I slipped away to try the fly fishing on the River Bollin near Altrincham. Hardly the Test but hey beggars cant be choosers and it is nearby. My fly fishing heart is still with the River Wharfe in the Dales though, but my £38 per annum membership to the Dunham Massey Angling Club turned up in the post only this morning with a tax return reminder from HMRC. Guess which was opened first. Feeling guilty but not that guilty!

Anyway, had hoped to photo a beautiful wild Brownie but alas I blanked for my first fishing trip of the season. However always happy to oblige for photo calls are the men from National Grid with their fabulous high wire act in some funky little mini cable cars. Know it's still a very distant shot but the iPhone zoom is not so hot.

Rushing back now to head into Manchester to go see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
