Twists and Turns
The twists and turns that life entails
Bring successes yet sometimes fails
We cannot see beyond the bend
Nor know what glories life may send
All we can do is follow life's path
And repair the damage of the aftermath
Of decisions made with little thought
The damge of ignoring all once taught
Our life hangs from an invisible thread
So easily cut by the wrong word said
And cast from sky position bright
Falls to despair's gloom-filled night
We climb the ladder to subserviant success
To reach the heights with open access
Only to drop down snake scaled slide
While past lovers mock and deride
The fantasy that life's direction is ours
Soon turns to bile and ultimately sours
As the next turn of experience's screw
Forces rose'd glasses to wave adieu
But whatever may our thoughts harrow
Forcing us off the path that's narrow
Love, Protecting all, brightly sails
Over the twists and turns of life's trails
