There's not many left of me.
One day a week I work in a suburb in SW Sydney called Bankstown. This has historically been a working class suburb and it's claim to fame is that Paul Keating, an infamous ex PM, was born and raised here. Most of then houses 50 years ago would have been small weatherboard or fibro house on fairly large, 1/4 acre blocks, as depicted by this image. However, these modest dwelling have largely been demolished and replaced by huge modern houses (known as McMansions) which are usually gauche and ugly. Next week I will have to take a photo of the latter.
