A Lota

Over to Alvor today to sample the fish restaurants, or at least one of them. A Lota was the first restaurant on the litte strip to display it's fish on ice for customers to choose for themselves, which quickly caught on. It is a little back from the waterfront so it is less busy and also has a very good wine list. Not that it bothered us much as we drove over here but a nice seat in front of the custacean tank to watch all the shellfish wiggle around and a nicely charcoal grilled bass and bream (robalo and dourada) with simple sides of potatoes and salad was all we were after.

Picked up some fava beans from the market, some the size of your thumb which were fried later with some bacon and choricau. The weather is still not great but it has it's moments.

We had a bit of a moment today when a number of people replied to an email from Jen which she had not sent. The bar next to the hotel does not require a password for the wifi which always makes me antsy but I didn't do much apart from blip. Jen however used it quite a bit and she also received a text from the bank saying her account was nearly empty and alarm bells rang but all turned out to be fine but we didn't go back to the bar this evening, instad we headed down to Nana's at Praia da Rocha after another bit of surprisingly pleasant early evening weather. They had passworded wifi which made us feel more secure.
