False Shamrock

I love my Oxalis triangularis! He must be the toughest plant I ever met. I bought him as a decoration for New Year's Eve several years ago when I was still living in Berlin.

Since then he survived...

-being overwatered
-getting too little water
- several days in a tea chest
-long hot days on the balcony
-dull summers in the living room
- frosty nights on the balcony
-being bitten and chewed on by cats

But whenever I give up on him, new bulbs appear, followed by incredibly purple leaves and the most delicate blossoms I now. I'm thinking about giving him fresh potting soil this spring but I'm afraid the shock of so much indulgence could kill him...
