Concentration or trance?
We travelled back from Inverkip today after a week spent visiting my Dad (who is STILL in hospital but slowly heading in the right direction). To do our final toilet stops before hitting the open road, we stopped off at my sister's house in Motherwell and it also gave the children an opportunity to see their favourite dog, Keira.
Both children were watching DVDs on their new separate DVD players to replace the faulty one that had one player outputting the same image to two screens, and therefore have headphones to avoid overhearing each other's soundtrack.
As we passed a bit of open ground a block away from my sister's home, we noticed her out with Keira and pulled over the kerb to see them. Keira noticed us and came bounding over to the car and jumped up to the front passenger window to say hello. Becky noticed this but there was no indication that Alex had heard or seen anything.
After a couple of minutes, we headed off to the house which entailed a trip round the block where once again, Keira got very excited and, on this occasion tried to get into the car via the now open door. Becky was getting very excited about the fuss but still not a peep from Alex as the scene above depicts his concentration on the 7" screen in front of him (showing Scooby Doo The Movie). We all sat in front of him discussing his expression and took this photo of him and still nothing until after a couple of minutes he looked up and asked "Where are we?". Only then did he notice his favourite dog in the front seat of our car and went mad himself.
Living proof of the benefit of these marvellous devices when travelling long distances. And now no squabbling over what film they want to watch as they can choose their own; until they both want the same film that is!!
