Trains of Japan

We went on a 12 km walk today! From my old apartment to Kichijoji, where we now live by walking along the Kanda River. We took the train to get there and then had Nepali curry for lunch! After that, we walked back along the river that is famous for having many cherry trees on its banks.

In April this season is called hanami, which means "flower watching", and is very popular. The parks with cherry trees become incredibly crowded, you cannot even walk in most places, as people lay out huge blue tarps and hold picnics, getting drunk and singing under the cherry blossoms. It really is great fun! But, should you ever need to go to the bathroom, you will line up for a looooong time...

This year's hanami is starting out great! I love this time of the year :)
