The future
The monorail in Seattle was built in 1962 for the World's Fair at a cost of $3.5m. Now it runs less than a mile, but I assume it must have once been longer. The final, and now only, destination is the Space Needle (which you can see reflected in this blip).
The 1962 vision of the future was built of concrete but the actual future, now it has arrived, turns out to be much shinier, more curvaceous and even brightly coloured. I hope that means we are rather more fun than we were predicted to be.
