The Race Route

A good morning out on the local hills and a quick dash home for a shower and lunch, before heading back to Horwich to watch many friends participating in the Rivington Pike Fell Race. This is probably the second oldest amateur fell race, having been run since 1893 (Hallam Chase since 1863), and it may have been run as a professional race as early as 1869. Always held on Easter Saturday it is a short steep race of about 3.25 miles with 700 feet of climbing. All the better to watch than participate in :)

More of the race and the winner here if interested
