Skail Bay seaweed
A good walk from Skara Brae along the cliffs to to the Broch of Borwick and back.
My first returning bonxie, or great skua, flew overhead at Skara Brae, and I also saw my first wheatear at the beach. On the cliffs there were thousands of guillemots and I found a raven's nest with at least four and up to six chicks in it- difficult to tell as the nest was on an extremely scary cliff at Ramna Geo and I was looking from a distance.
