The breed originates in the Weimar region of Germany, where they were bred as hunting dogs and companions for the noblemen of the area, or so the books I've read tell me.

Particularly adept at hunting pine cones.

For diary type purposes: First trip to the woods for about three months. Lil and girl VERY excited. Thick black mud abounds.
