Living below the television mast

The original purpose of this mast was to bounce the telvision signal onto Portree. The main mast is shadowed from Portree by Beinn na Greine. An oversight possibly when the original mast was erected.

Of course it may be that the original mast was owned by the military and served a completely different purpose. The houses here in Penifiler are numbers two, half of two and three I believe. I used to live at number five.

Fortunately the mast is behind the houses and they face west and so enjoy the evening sunshine; that is when the sun shines at all.
